And it is not that the John Derbyshire OBE is retiring in 2017, another big personality from sailing is also leaving the organization and he is Olympic Manager Stephen Park.
Now, RYA is looking for two outstanding candidates that will lead sailing sport in the United Kingdom. RYA needs growth of racing in the United Kingdom, the British Sailing Team and World Class Program for the Tokyo 2020 cycle and even after that.
The RYA has to fill both the vacancy; however, it is giving first priority to Directory of Racing post. According to the review of staff, the RYA will first recruit the new Director of Racing. This will enable an apt handover period. This will also help in getting the right candidate for the post of Olympic Manager.
Derbyshire tenure will end on 1st of September 2017, he shared his thought and said “To retire in the early part of the cycle was always been my intention, and the decision taken by authorities with regards to filling the vacancy and handover of the post is absolutely logical”.
Speaking about his experience with RYA he said, “I have a proud feeling that I am the part of the RYA and hugely proud of whatever I have achieved during my tenure. The sport has grown profoundly and I am very privileged that I was the part of the program that developed the game as well as helps many sailors to come in front and show their skill to the world. RYS has produced many sailors of world level that are showing their best games to the world. I am proud that I have contributed in this effort.” Jackpot City online casino – Review, Slots & Bonuses
